Developed as an alternative to wood burning and gas fireplaces, the Real Flame VividFlame™ electric fireplace insert mimics the look of a real, flickering fire, but does not require a chimney or vents and conveniently plugs into a standard outlet. This contemporary indoor fireplace can be hung directly on the wall, recessed into the wall for a built-in look or stand on the included feet. Features six flame color options, five flame brightness levels, adjustable thermostat, timer function and automatic safety shut-off. The electric firebox insert provides supplemental heat for rooms up to 1,000 sq ft or the heater can be turned off so you can enjoy the comforting ambiance of a glowing fireplace year-round. Electric firebox with log set, two types of filler, standing feet, mounting bracket, hardware and a remote control are included.

Real Flame® electric fireplaces mimic the look of a real fire but do not require a chimney or vents and plug into a standard three-prong outlet. After assembly, place your fireplace in the desired location, install the anti-topple device if required, plug into an outlet, and turn on the firebox by using the touch controls or remote control. Q: What is the minimum clearance for a wood mantel?

A: 8” deep Mantel – 14” height clearance
10” deep Mantel – 16” height clearance
12” deep mantel – 18” height clearance
For the unit itself:
Floor clearance – 12”
Ceiling clearance – 36”

Q: Is there an outside flange\trim that fits arund the firebox? That .5 in the diagram shown? If so is the flange\trim reguired to use around the firebox? Also do you recommond finishing right to the firebox or to the flange\trim using Mrock stone?

A: The 0.5" in the diagram is the depth of the outside trim, and that would need to be attached to the firebox as the glass is part of the trim piece. In regards to finishing, you can finish up next to it, but don't cover the trim at all in case maintenance is ever needed on the piece and it needs to be removed.
