Mantel-scaping Tips for the Harvest Season
As the fall season approaches, it’s easy to switch out existing decorative pieces in your home to create a cozy and festive environment that encourages friends and family to gather and connect. Let’s focus on the mantel – the heart of your home! Here, I’ll show you how to transform your mantel to celebrate the harvest season with these simple “mantle-scaping” tips.
Start by adding a bold statement piece that will anchor your mantel as the focal point within your gathering space. Here, I used a festive berry wreath to bring the outdoors inside, while also providing a pop of color and adding lush visual texture to the space.
Smaller natural elements such as acorns, combined with pumpkin spice scented candles, are thoughtful details that can bring a sense of comfort and warmth to your home.
To emphasize the scale and mitered trim detail of our gorgeous Real Flame Cleo unit, I focused the decorative mantel-scape on one side for an asymmetrical arrangement. A pair of ample glass hurricanes at staggered heights act as the base of the mantel-scape. Decorative pumpkins add body to the arrangement, while maple leaf sprigs add rich color, tying in the berry wreath above.
To balance out the opposite side of the mantle, I used two tapered candlesticks in a rich wood tone to add an organic element. Choose streamlined, simple shapes and colors to avoid having the mantle top too cluttered or compete with the existing arrangement
Once the festive mantel-scape is complete, it’s time to bring in additional seasonal touches to your gathering space! Cozy textured throws and pillows in the colors of the season are a quick and easy way to make a big impact without breaking your budget.
Finally, a simple coffee table arrangement with natural elements tie the whole space together. Voila! You’re ready to gather and celebrate the harvest season in a cozy, warm and inviting space!
